Dr. Bell leads both the Back to Function and Bell Chiropractic teams.  He is considered one of Canada’s foremost Sports Chiropractors. He has worked with athletes across a wide range of sport disciplines at over 50 international events including 6 Olympic Games and 18 World Championship and Commonwealth Games.  In addition to treating patients, he lectures to chiropractic and healthcare professionals around the world. His dedication to bring the same level of expert treatment that elite athletes receive to people of all ages and activity levels has established Back to Function and Bell Chiropractic as the clinics of choice for people and athletes from all over the world.

Dr. Ben Rayfield was born and raised in Orillia. He was heavily involved in Track and Field and various team sports which led him to a keen interest in sports injury treatment and prevention. He graduated from the University of Western Ontario with a degree in Kinesiology, then Magna Cum Laude from the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College in Toronto in 2003. He has been a dedicated member of the team at Bell Chiropractic and Back to Function since his graduation.

Born and raised in Orillia, Dr. Mike Duffy has extensive ties in the community throughout his years of athletics including hockey, soccer, baseball and track-and-field. He attended The University of Western Ontario before graduating from the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College (CMCC) in Toronto, with clinical honours. While studying at CMCC, he attended McMaster University, obtaining his certification in Contemporary Medical Acupuncture. During his internship, Dr. Duffy completed an extensive clinical placement at Sunnybrook St. John's Rehabilitation Hospital.

Dr. Bell is a sports specialist chiropractor and one of Ontario’s few certified Dynamic Neuromuscular Stabilization (DNS) practitioners. He graduated with honours from Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College where he was awarded 13 scholarships including the prestigious FICS International Student Scholarship for his contributions to sports chiropractic. He is the recipient of an international award for his student-led research initiative in clinical biomechanics, and was awarded an Academic Achievement Award by the Royal College of Chiropractic Sports Sciences (RCCSS) for his research project investigating the effects of chiropractic manipulation in elite sprinters.

Dr. McFarlane comes to Back to Function with a strong background in exercise and nutrition. She draws from a variety of techniques, including Active Release Technique, Contemporary Medical Acupuncture, and functional assessment systems, which allows her to individualize treatment plans to every patient’s needs. Dr. McFarlane believes that patient education, personalized treatment, and exercise interventions form the foundation of patient care, allowing patients to understand their underlying conditions and prevent future issues from developing. Dr. Nader Abdelkader obtained a Bachelor of Science degree with distinction from the University of Manitoba while concurrently competing at the national fencing circuit. During his athletic career, his appreciation for sports medicine sparked interest, having sustained several sports injuries himself. Combining his passion for health sciences and sports, he graduated from the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College. After obtaining his doctorate degree, he further pursued his academics and completed an intensive 2-year post graduate fellowship in Sports Sciences.

Dr. Tara Brown’s philosophy of healthy living has been instilled since a very young age, which lead her to pursue a career in health and wellness. When a ski injury hampered her performance at 14 years of age, Dr. Brown turned to a chiropractor to help her recover. This gave her the passion and drive to become a chiropractor herself, as she wanted to provide the same quality of care to others.

Dr. Brett McEwan grew up in a very active family playing hockey and baseball throughout the year and golf in the summers. With this came an inevitable sports injury, which exposed him to chiropractic. After successful treatment, he decided he wanted to become a chiropractor himself to help people with their injuries. Dr. McEwan started his education at the University of Ottawa where he graduated with an Honours Bachelor of Science in Human Kinetics. He then completed his Doctorate of Chiropractic and Master of Sport Science and Rehabilitation concurrently at Logan University in St. Louis Missouri. Dr. McEwan takes a movement and evidenced-based approach to care with patients, which includes soft tissue therapies, joint mobilization and manipulation, and rehabilitative exercise.

Dr. McMordie is a medical doctor specializing in Sport and Exercise Medicine. She has been part of Team Canada's medical staff at several major games including the Pan Am Games, World Beach Games, and FISU Winter/Summer

Her clinical expertise includes sport injuries, concussion, joint pain, non-operative osteoarthritis management, and platelet-rich plasma, cortisone, and viscosupplementation injections.

Jasmine Kelly

Jasmine has been an RMT since 2008 after graduating with honors from the Canadian College of Massage and Hydrotherapy. She specializes in Swedish massage, Deep Tissue Massage and Cupping; and incorporates Shiatsu, myofascial release and active release techniques into her treatments. She is also a qualified yoga instructor, having completed a 200 hour teacher training in Costa Rica in 2010. Jasmine moved to Orillia with her husband and two boys in 2020. In her free time she can be found on the trails hiking or riding her bike with her husband, two boys and their dog Roo.
